Educational Needs Questionnaire

Dear Leaders/Teachers,

At the Osceola-Lake Conservation District one of our main goals is to educate the public on the wise use of our natural resources. We believe that this understanding and education should start at a young age. We would like to make available educational opportunities in the form of materials, workshops, outings, contests, and more.

Please give us your input as to what type of programs and services you would look for regarding your educational needs. We would like to put together and send you a package of information to meet those needs. If you are interested in receiving this information please fill out and return, by mail or fax, the following questionnaire. Even if you do not wish a package at this time, please return the questionnaire so we can keep track of how we can help you in the future.

2002 Annual Meeting/Open House

Pictures from the Osceola-Lake Conservation Districts 58th Annual Meeting/Open House.

Eldon Zimmerman presented Fay Wilson (retiring Groundwater Technician and Soil Erosion Officer) with a plaque and a lifetime membership in appreciation for his many years of service.  He was also given a jacket by the Groundwater Stewardship Program.

Elaine Gingrich awarded Ken Sink (Lake County resident) with the "2002 Conservationist of the Year Award" for his efforts in protecting the Pere Marquette River from streambank erosion.

We had 56 people in attendance at our Open House. Representatives from the MDEQ, MDNR, MSUE, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife were on hand, on and off throughout the afternoon to answer any questions that the public might have had.

Unique Tree Hunt

Many thanks to those who forwarded pictures of "unique trees" in Osceola, Lake, and Mecosta Counties. We will continue to collect pictures and show them in future newsletters and on this website.
