Planning a Pollinator Paradise: A Hands-On Native Plant Workshop

Friday, June 5th, 2026 from 11am-12pm at the Big Rapids Community Library

Are you interested in native plants? Do you want to create a peaceful haven for pollinators, wildlife and yourself? Engage in an interactive workshop with Melanie Chasseur, our Program Support Specialist, as she showcases her process of designing The Pollinator Pathway at the Big Rapids Community Library. She will highlight her techniques for site selection, assessment, planning, implementation, and most importantly—enjoyment! Together, you’ll explore ideas, share experiences, and grow your curiosity with other nature-loving, like-minded plant-people. Through this step by step process, you will design a garden in your unique landscape, curate high quality species for local wildlife through our selection of locally grown Michigan-genotype native plants, and apply practical conservation techniques to design resilient, sustainable landscapes. Come prepared with the idea of a site you’d like to enhance and a willingness to learn and grow. Cultivate your connection with nature and leave inspired to transform your outdoor space into a Pollinator Paradise! Registration not required.
